I must admit my Cold Stone Creamery experience was not as indulgent as Mr. Foodco so adamantly described with passion, I neglected the fact that I am lactose intolerant! Yea, I know. Although the concept is very interesting, I do not see how this fits within Timmy’s business model. It’s sad to say but I call it, that this new venture will not last, just like those McDonald’s Pizza’s I miss dearly. I have inserted a photo for all us to mourn this iconic product that was so brutally discontinued.

Chocolate Ice Cream with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups & Marshmallows at Cold Stone Creamery - Bay & Bloor in Toronto.
Cold Stone is brand new to Toronto.  Everyone I talk to references Marble Slab (the Canadian equivalent?) but growing up in the city I never experienced it because they are all located in the suburbs.  Now it’s become a summer obsession even beating out Dairy Queen (brownie batter blizzard) and soft serve from the truck.  So far I haven’t been very adventurous with mixing different flavours and toppings.  Usually when I’ve found one I like, I stick with it.  The regular - chocolate with chopped up brownie and marshmallow… up until last night when I threw in the peanut butter cups, inspired by Jeff’s coffee and peanut butter combo.  I also enjoy partaking in a sample or two, but I always seem to end up with chocolate.  Today a discussion of flavours with Zach Pearse went down something like this -
Zach - “My favourite is cake batter”
Mark - “I don’t really like cake batter”
Zach - “Well you’re an idiot”
Maybe Zach has a point.  I should probably give it a try…or not.  Who’s up for an ice cream? See you there tomorrow?
Side note - the new jello flavours are odd.  Apparently they don’t melt but return to a jello like substance…

oh and P.S. it’s my birthday on Sunday…they have Cold Stone cakes!
